Review For Circular Motion Test (Orange: 2/24 Black: 2/25)

I checked the Homework and went over the Anticipation Guide, The Rotational Motion/Induced Gravity WS (period 5 only) and selected questions from the review sheet.  Period 5 took the quiz, and both periods graded it.  At the end of the period we watched the 360 degree Swing on Mythbusters.

HW:  Study for test; Assemble HW Packet

Induced Gravity (Orange: 2/22 Black: 2/23)

I gave the quiz for Worksheet 3 in 6th period (5th period has their quiz on 2/24).  After that we concluded our discussion of the Coriolis Effect and relative motion of objects.  6th period also used the clickers to complete the Rotational Motion Worksheet.

We discussed torque and did an activity that demonstrated torque.

HW:  5th period- Study for quiz, complete review sheet, anticipation guide and rotational motion ws's
6th period, finish review sheet and anticipation guide.

Calculating Centripetal Forces (Orange: 2/9 Black: 2/10)

We talked more about fictitious forces then learned how to calculate Centripetal Force and centripetal acceleration.  I gave about 30 minutes of class time to work on the homework.

HW:  WS 3

Fictitious Force#2 Coriolis (2/11: Orange 2/21: Black)

I checked and we whiteboarded Worksheet 3.  The remainder of the period was spent talking about another fictitious force, the Coriolis Force.

HW:  None

Projectile Motion Exam (Orange: 2/7 Black: 2/8)

Today was the projectile motion test.  I also collected HW packets.  If you did not assemble your homework packet you will need to consult with someone in your period... all classes have a different homework packet.

HW:  Assemble HW packet if you didn't already do so

More Circular Motion (Orange: 2/3 Black: 2/4)

Today we did a number of activities that would give students a better physical understanding of objects moving in a circular pattern.

HW:  Study for the test on projectile motion

Projectile Motion Review (Orange: 2/1 Black: 2/2)

We went over the answers to the Projectile Motion Anticipation Guide using the clickers.  Following that 5th period played broomball and 6th period created their own projectile motion problems.

HW:  Study for test!  Monday 2/7 for 5th period, Tuesday 2/8 for all other classes.
